Lewis Elliott, Jr., 69, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on January 18th, 2020, in Tulsa. He was born on December 27th, 1950 to Lewis A. and Nettie Sue (Redfern) Elliott in Fort Belvoir, Virginia.
He is preceded in death by his father.
Lewis went to Webster high school and was state champion in wrestling. Lewis worked as a machinist for over 40 years.
Lewis was a handy man and one of his favorite phrases was “Ahh, let’s just west side it”. He enjoyed tinkering on things big and small, especially vehicles; trucks in particular.
He was a proud veteran of the Army and he was not afraid to tell you about. He received the National Defense Service Medal for Sharpshooter on the M-16.
He loved building things, and he enjoyed spending time in his garden. When not enjoying his work, he also passed his time watching Westerns.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Virginia Elliott, of the home; his mother Sue; his daughter, Stacy Ritchey (and husband Steve) of Tulsa; sons, Brian Johnson (and wife, Arlene) of Tulsa, Michael Johnson (and wife Lindsey) of Berryhill, OK and Lance Elliott (and wife Megan) of Berryhill, OK; his grandchildren, Kori, Kaci, Kolby, Gage, and Gracie; great-grandchildren Rylie and Levi; his brother, Charles Elliott; and his sister, Betty Sue Denny and their children.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2020 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Heath-Griffith Funeral Home, with family present from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at 1 p.m. in the Heath-Griffith Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Conley officiating.
