James Bridges, 52, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 27th, 2020, in Tulsa. He was born on September 9th, 1967, to John and Violet (Wells) Bridges in Tulsa.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
James was known throughout Tulsa as an avid fan of the Drillers baseball team, and was a fixture at the team’s home games, even singing the national anthem a number of times and frequently assisting in ushering his fellow fans. He was also frequently found throughout town at fan conventions and comic book shops, and was a proud member of many fan communities. He treasured his friendships with the Real Oklahoma Ghostbusters, the Drillers team, and the countless other friends he made throughout his life.
James loved to perform, and through his singing, dancing, and theater, brought joy to many people. One of his greatest passions was making others happy, and spent decades bringing joy in any way he could.
More than anything else, however, James was an ardent follower of Christ. A proud Catholic, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and was a constant attendee at Saint Catherine’s Catholic Church. His love for his savior translated into a love he shared with those around him. His devotion to his friends was powerful, and those in his circle were his “god-brothers” and “god-sisters”.
James is survived by his half-brother, Gary Bridges, and the innumerable friends and loved ones he surrounded himself with throughout his life.
