Clara Jane (Looper) Harper, 89, ran into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Thursday, May 28, 2021, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was born to Mary and Timothy Q. Looper on August 30, 1931.
She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 40 1/2 years, Benney J. Harper; two sons, Timothy J., and Allen J. Harper; granddaughter, Destini Nicole Sifuentes; one brother, Rev.John C. Looper; and two infant sisters, Mary and Emily.
Clara grew up in the West Tulsa Community and graduated from Daniel Webster High School in May of 1949. Less than three years later, Clara married the love of her life, Benney Harper at Carbondale Assembly of God on January 4, 1952. From their union, four children were born.
Clara was a devout Christian who gave her life to Christ at the age of 10. She believed her whole purpose in life was to share God's love in order to get as many relatives and friends to heaven with her. She was a lifelong member of the Carbondale Assembly of God Church. Clara was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved her family deeply. She worked for Oral Roberts Evangelical Association from May 1970 till her retirement on May 29, 1995, after 25 years.
She is survived by her son, Steven J. Harper, of Tulsa; daughter, Benita J. Sifuentes and her husband, Jerrel Wolfe, of New Brighton, PA; three grandchildren, Jessica R. Harper, Benjamin R. Harper, and Daniel J. Sifuentes; two step-grandchildren, Shea Malone and Tess Baker; one step-great-grandchild, Sullivan Malone; one brother, Jeryl Q. Looper; three extended relatives, Norman Gootee, Nancy Harper, and Bobbie Harper; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive her and will miss her deeply.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, June 1, 2021, from 12 pm to 8 pm, with family being present from 5 pm to 8 pm at Heath-Griffith Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 am, Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at Carbondale Assembly of God Church with Pastor Phil Taylor officiating.
