Francis Milton Peleiholani Anderson (Bob), 89, of Waikoloa Village, Hawaii went to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 1, 2019.
Bob was born on June 4, 1930 in Honolulu, Hawaii to Francis and Catherine Anderson. He graduated from Kamehameha High School in 1948. He served in the Army from 1950 – 1953 during the Korean War. Upon returning home to Hawaii, he enrolled in Honolulu Christian College and graduated with a B.A. in 1958.
After graduation, he entered Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in Mill Valley, California. While attending seminary Bob met and began dating the Seminary President’s secretary, who became the love of his life. Bob and Dorothy were married on July 31, 1959. Bob received his Bachelor of Divinity from Golden Gate Seminary in 1962.
Upon graduation, Bob, Dorothy, and their two children, Craig, and Malialani, moved to the Captain Cook area on the Big Island of Hawaii. Bob began working for the Hawaii Baptist Association as a church plant pastor and started Kona Baptist Church.
Bob and family eventually moved to Oklahoma where they welcomed their third child, Sherilani, into the family. Bob worked for American Airlines in Oklahoma City for 30 years.
Bob was an active deacon in the churches the family attended, including First Baptist Church of Moore, First Baptist Church of Cashion, and Quail Springs Baptist Church of Edmond.
Upon retirement in 1999, Bob and Dorothy moved to the Berryhill area to be closer to their grandchildren. For many years, Bob was active in the Gideons, the Bible Study Fellowship group at Kirk of the Hills, and as a deacon at View Acres Baptist Church in Berryhill. His favorite pastime was studying God’s Word.
Around 2013, Bob began attending Solace Church with his son and daughter-in-law. In 2016, Bob moved back to his beloved Hawaii to live with his daughter and son-in-law, Malialani and David McQueery. He became an active member of Waikoloa Village Baptist Church.
In August 2018, he became bedridden due to the debilitating effects of Parkinson’s. His hospice caregivers became his field of witness. Bob became known as the “Favorite Patient” to the staff of North Hawaii Hospice. On July 1, 2019 Bob moved to the ultimate Paradise.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Catherine Anderson. He was also preceded in death by Dorothy, his wife of 48 years; sisters, Kalani Yamashita and Jana Milatante; and brother, Paul Anderson. He is survived by son, Craig and wife, Elisa Anderson of Sand Springs, OK; daughter and husband, Malialani and David McQuerry of Waikoloa Village, Hawaii; daughter, Sherilani Garrett of Irvine, California; 3 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
There will be a celebration of Bob's life 7pm, Thursday, August 29, 2019 at Solace Church. Rev. Chuck Burton will be officiating.
