Carolyn Lee Bee was an only child born on December 1, 1941 in Kansas City, Missouri to the union of William and Kathleen Hardin, both who preceded her in death. She was only 4 years old when her mother passed. She was raised and nurtured by her Aunt Pearl & Uncle Leo who also preceded her in death.
She devoted her life to Christ at an early age. She was a woman of God who loved to play the piano and sing. She was a dedicated worker and coordinator of the Holdin Community Choir. She also was the Minister of Music at Holy New Testament, under the leadership of her father.
In 1959 she married Billy J. Bee. To this union two children were born, Cheryl and Keith. In 1965, her second marriage was to John C. Collins. Michelle was the only child born to this union.

She immediately began to focus on her love for Nursing. She graduated from nursing school in 1973. She furthered her education by receiving both a Bachelor's and Master's of Science in Nursing.
The admiration for caregiving and nursing afforded her an extended career. She held prestigious positions such as an Operating Room Nurse, Emergency Room Supervisor, and later a Psychiatric Nurse.
