Bob Lee Bean, Sr., 89, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, passed away on October 7, 2019, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born to Wilbur William and Mary Elizabeth Bean on August 6, 1930, in Coweta, Oklahoma.
Bob graduated from Berryhill High School in 1947; it was there that he met and fell in love with Alma Kirby, his future wife. They were married on May 21, 1948, at New Home Free Will Baptist Church, and for 71 years they have lived in Berryhill where they raised their three children.
He loved going to rodeos and livestock auctions and served as the president of the Circle C Round-Up Club for several years. He loved horses and enjoyed working as a rancher. He worked nights as an overhead crane operator for Flint Steel Corporation for 29 years and ran his own trucking and excavating company during the day.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jack Bean. He is survived by his wife Alma; his daughter, Dolores Arrowood and husband Larry of Sand Springs, OK; his sons, Bobby Lee Bean, Jr., and wife Harolyn of Tulsa, OK and Patrick Bean and wife Tracy of Tulsa, OK; his sister, Patsy Gabler and her husband Fred, of Tulsa, OK; his grandchildren, Jennifer Bean, Courtney Warren and husband John, Natalie Fernandezand husband Nick, Jim Arrowood and wife Jennifer, JP Beanand wife Alyssa, and Ryan Bean; and five great-grandchildren: Charlee and Cami Rodriguez, James and Emily Arrowood, and Stella McIlroy. A host of other relatives and friends also cherish his memory.
A visitation will be held Sunday, October 13, 2019, from 1 PM to 5 PM at Heath-Griffith Funeral Home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. A funeral service will be held Monday, October 14, 2019, at 10 AM at Heath-Griffith Funeral Home. Committal will follow at Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.
