Donald “Don” Lee Carter, Jr. passed from this life on Sunday, April 15, 2018 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at 61 years of age. He was born September 16, 1956 in Bristow, Oklahoma to Donald Lee Carter, Sr. and Edna D. (Anderson) Carter.

Don has been a resident of Sapulpa for the last twenty seven and a half years, and had previously resided in Bristow and Tulsa. He was a 1974 graduate of Bristow High School and earned an associate’s degree in data processing from Oklahoma Junior College in 1985. Don served his country in the Oklahoma Army National Guard for 22 years. He retired from Firestone in 1996 and has worked as a mechanic for Atwell Roofing for the last 22 years. Don was a member of the Guard Dog Motorcycle Club and enjoyed fishing, watching professional boxing, and riding motorcycles.

Don was preceded in death by his parents and a special cousin, Steve Potter. He leaves behind his loving wife, Michele “Shelly” Carter of Sapulpa; 2 sons, Scott Veron of Coweta and Jeff Veron of Neosho; daughter-in-law, Brandy Veron of Gore; 1 brother, Larry Carter of Tulsa; 2 sisters, Linda Bear of Keifer and Anita Gonzalez of Tulsa; 5 grandchildren: Alessia, Ian, Chance, Cheyenne, and Chandler; and special cousins, Don Biswell and Jim Ingram and lifelong best friends, David Fisher, John Parker, Dennis Smith and Kelly Brady.

There will be a celebration of Don’s life on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Ghost Dog Kennels (The Carter Family Home). Come and go as you are able between 10am-4pm. There will be no viewing or visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Heath-Griffith Funeral Home, (918) 446-6633.
