James Anthony “Jimmy” Rodanski passed from this life on Saturday, September 16, 2017 in Sand Springs at 55 years of age. He was born January 22, 1962 at Otis Air Force Base in Cape Cod, Massachusetts to Joseph Martin Rodanski and Ruby Lucille (Gwartney) Rodanski. Jimmy was a military kid and grew up living in several places including Massachusetts, Florida, England, and Germany. He graduated class of 1980 from Union High School in Tulsa. Jimmy married Starla Nance on October 28, 1985 in Eureka Springs. He has been a resident of Sand Springs for over 30 years. Jimmy was a contract carpenter in the construction industry. He enjoyed coaching baseball and football, officiating wrestling, watching NFL and college football, and was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Oklahoma Sooners, and Pittsburgh. Jimmy also enjoyed playing washers, camping, hunting, fishing, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Rodanski, and his sister, Judy Ann Goodwin. He leaves behind his parents, Joe and Ruby Rodanski, of Tulsa; his wife, Starla Rodanski, of Sand Springs; his daughter, Jami Leeann (Rodanski) Burkhalter and husband, Chuck, of Sand Springs; his son, Buddy Joe Rodanski and better half, Jamie Krumm, of Sand Springs; his brother, Joey Rodanski and wife, Judy, of Tulsa; four grandchildren: Kaylynn Burkhalter, Ashlynn Burkhalter, Branson James Burkhalter, Bentley Keith Burkhalter, and Kaydence Campbell; two great grandchildren: Brinlee and Jordan Burkhalter; lifelong best friends: Vickie Inman, Mike Neeley, Michael Matthews, Jimmy Tiger, and Randy Gwartney; and numerous extended family and friends.
A celebration of Jimmy’s life will be held from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Saturday September 23, 2017 at Keystone State Park, Pavilion #1. Arrangements are under the direction of Heath-Griffith Funeral Home, (918) 446-6633.
