Wanda Lee (Fisher) Layton passed from this life on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 in Tulsa at 87 years of age. She was born January 31, 1930 in Wagoner to William Elzie Fisher and Thelma Beatrice (Cothran) Fisher. Wanda was a nearly lifelong resident of Tulsa, and a 1948 graduate of Daniel Webster High School. She married Arthur D. Layton, who preceded her in death on June 10, 1999. Wanda was a member of Garden City Baptist Church, and she enjoyed playing bingo, coloring, and collecting nick-nacks.
Wanda was also preceded in death by her parents, two sons, Timothy and Larry Layton, and her sister, Betty Cobb. She leaves behind her daughters, Cathey Clark and Mary Deckard, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and numerous extended relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Heath-Griffith Chapel. Honorary casketbearers will be JD Deckard, Dakota Deckard, Andy Clark, and Bubba Shipley. A private burial will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Heath-Griffith Funeral Home, (918) 446-6633.
Sorry for the passing of Wanda. It's even more painful when it is unnecessary. A tragedy. Love to the family. Words are sometimes powerless to sooth the pain. It is so, today.
