Joyce Amanda Rasmussen was born August 3, 1932 in Port Arthur, Ontario, Canada the daughter of Gerald and Dorilda (Gascon) Merell. She passed from this life on Monday, May 15, 2017 in Jenks at the age of 84 years, 9 months and 12 days.

Joyce was a former childcare worker and attended Hope of Glory Church. She loved the ocean and doing bead work.

She was preceded in death by both her parents; husband, Gary Rasmussen; children, Cynthia Hill, Tommy Greg Tetters and an infant son; and her sister Aurora Cook.

Her survivors include her children, John Moore and wife, Brenda of Ft. Worth, TX, Donna Hogg and husband, Donald of Jenks, Wayne Moore and wife, Brenda of Talala, Warren Burns and wife Sue of Cherokee Village, AR, John Irvin and wife, Connie of Redding, CA, Tyler Rasmussen and wife, Tory of Paragould, AR, Amanda Rasmussen of Paragould, AR and Jamie Rasmussen of Jonesboro, AR; brother-in-law, David Cooke of Canada; nephew, Jamie Cooke of Canada; cousin, Pat Gofina and wife, Dorothy of Canada; 21 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Visitation for Joyce will be held 2 pm to 8 pm on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 with the family present from 6:30 to 8 pm.

A graveside service is scheduled for 2 pm, Thursday, May 18, 2017 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery with Pastor Joseph Ray Reeves officiating. Pallbearers will be Tyler Rasmussen, Don Hogg, Tina Brame, Brian Brame, Jessie Barber, and John Davis. Arrangements are under the direction of Heath-Griffith Funeral Home.
